1. KING OF DRIFT RULES

INTRODUCTION & DISCLAIMER

The following rules are mandatory for all King of Drift (KOD) events. The KOD reserves the right to update or amend these rules and regulations at any time.

TECHNICAL INSPECTION

Technical inspection will take place at each KOD event and all drivers and vehicles must attend. All competition vehicles must pass technical inspection in order to compete. Any competition vehicle failing to comply with these rules and regulations will be excluded.

It is the responsibility of each driver to ensure they are on time for technical inspection. The appointed KOD technical inspector reserves the right to reject any competition vehicle which does not meet KOD safety standards. Upon failing technical inspection, a competitor will be allowed to make necessary adjustments and present the vehicle for re-inspection.

In the event of a collision/incident the KOD technical inspector must review the vehicle and decide on the eligibility to continue. Their decision is final and cannot be overturned. All competition cars must be in accordance with GDC vehicle safety regulations at all times during an event.

Vehicles must maintain the original steel unibody and/or steel frame structure between the OEM front and rear suspension mounting points. Vehicles that do not meet the above eligibility criteria must petition for approval from KOD.

PARTICIPANT AND HIS/HER OBLIGATIONS

Anyone who has a driver's license or a valid professional racer license can participate in the competition.

Participants must take whatever steps requested by a KOD Official.

CHASSIS MODIFICATIONS

All vehicles must be rear wheel drive. 4WD to RWD conversions are permitted.

ROLL CAGE

Roll cage is not mandatory.

ADDITIONAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

All vehicles must be equipped with at list 4 points FIA or SFI approval safety belts and they must function properly.

All vehicles must have properly installed FIA /SFI approved racing seats.

Convertible vehicles

Convertible vehicles are permitted but must use a hardtop.

BATTERY

Batteries must be securely fastened with the positive terminal insulated and if located within the cockpit fully covered

FIRE EXTINGUISHER 

All vehicles must have an on-board fire extinguishing with a minimum of 2kg/liters.

BRAKE SYSTEM

All four Brakes must be in perfect working order. It is allowed front and rear brakes to work separately.

Rear brake lights must be in perfect working order at all times.

All vehicles must have a front-facing LED brake light fitted to the top of the windscreen.

WHEELS AND RIMS

All four Wheels need to have a contrasting color on a specific portion

WINDOWS

Windshield must be OEM.

It is allowed to remove or change side windows.

INTERIOR

All non-essential and/or loose items must be removed from the interior.

ENGINES AND TRANSMISSIONS

Engine and gearbox substitutions and modifications are free.

EXHAUST SYSTEM

Exhaust system modifications are free.

FUEL SYSTEM / OIL SYSTEM / COOLING SYSTEM

Fuel filler caps must be securely fastened at all times. No part of the fuel system (other than the fuel line) may be in the driver’s compartment

Oil systems modifications are free but must be fully closed and free of leaks.

TYRE RESTRICTIONS and OBLIGATORY

Participation in the competition is allowed only with street legal rear tires classified no more than MAX performance.

It is allowed to use semi slick tires only in the front.

Maximum rear tire size must not exceed 235mm, front tires are free.

Minimum rear tire presure must be no less than 2.0 bar before start of each run. front tires are free.

Maximum rim size must not exceed 18 inches.

Maximum rim width must not exceed 10 inches.

DRIVER SAFETY EQUIPMENT

All participating drivers must wear the following items when entering any KOD event:

Any type of racing suit, Racing Gloves, Racing Shoes, at list dot certified Helmet.

Branding

KOD visors, door cards and driver numbers must be placed on all competing vehicles and must remain present during all stages of practice and competition. Failure to display GDC visors, door cards or driver numbers may result in disqualification.

KOD reserves the right to apply KOD or official KOD sponsorship branding to each vehicle in designated areas. Failure to display compulsory KOD sponsorship branding may result in disqualification.

Competition format

King of Drift - is an amateur competition in drifting where each participant comes out individually and performs a pre-given task with maximum preciseness, high speed, high angle, commitment and fluidity so that the car does not deviate from the drift, does not straighten and does not move in opposite drift.

The King of Drift racing season may consist of one or more stages

The winner of the racing season will be revealed by the points earned in the stages.

Each stage consists of two or more qualifying runs and from the super final where the top 16 competitors will fight for the final victory in tandems, according to the rules of professional drift.

Runs

Each run starts at the start line and ends after crossing the finish line.

The number of runs at each stage is determined by the regulations of a particular event.

Each run consists of tasks to be performed

Tasks

Tasks can be completely different from each other and include zones to be passed with front or rear wheels, proximity or contact with different objects, passing or stopping in a specific space with the car body, and more.

Run assessment

Each run is evaluated by at least 3 members of the judge, one of whom is the main judge (maximum number of judges should not exceed 7).

Each judge evaluates the run from points of each section of the track and style performed by race driver.

The maximum number of points for each run is 100, of which 60 points are for line, and 40 points are for the style performed by race driver;

The final points of the run are based on the average number of points awarded by all judges.

Judgement in the super final (tandems) is done according to the rules of professional drifting.

Points system

top 16 qualifying points

1 - 16 points, 2 - 15 points, 3 - 14 points, ........  16 - 1 point

Competition points

1 - 100 points, 2 - 80 points, 3 - 64 points, 4 - 54 points, top 8 - 48 points

top 16 - 32 points, Top 32 - 24 points, participation - 16 points.

Bonus points system

stage 1  -  no bonus points, stage 2 - 10 bonus points for everyone, stage 3 - 20 bonus points for everyone, stage 4 - 30 bonus points for everyone, stage 5 (finals) - 50 bonus points for everyone.

Bonus points system for Winter Cup

stage 1 - no bonus points, stage 2 - 20 bonus points for everyone, stage 3 (finals) - 50 bonus points for everyone

2024 special ruls with top 24 double eliminattion for Drift Winter CUP

Qualification - all participants will pass 1 qualifying run, the best 16 participants will go to TOP16, the remaining participants will pass 1 more qualifying run, and the 8 best participants will fill the TOP24 part of the losers grid;
0 points will not pass qualification;
Race - All participants of TOP16 of the first qualification have the right to lose ones and the losers go to the losers grid and join the 8 participants of the losers grid and on the other side the TOP16 is recruited and the winner 8 continues the race and so on until the final. See Figure 1 for a graphic representation

2. Auto Slalom rules

General rules

The championship consists of 12 stages (competitions) from which only the 10 best results of each participant will be counted, therefore the 2 worst and/or missed competition results will not be counted.
The championship starts on March 12, 2023 and ends on June 2024. Each competition consists of two independent race tracks. Runs on each track are evaluated according to the displayed time; Knocking down traffic cones or pulling them out of the marked place limit will be penalized 3 seconds for each coin.In case of incorrect passing of the race section, the participant will be excluded from the specific track and his competition time will be considered the worst time from the times shown by other participants on this track.
All participants will pass the first race track according to the following: 1 practice and 2 inclusive runs. The result will be revealed counting both Including running time and penalty seconds.The top 10 women and top 10 men will advance to the second round, where the track will be changed and the countdown will start again from zero.
The participants who passed to the second round will go through 1 practice and 2 inclusive runs (result will be revealed according to the same system) The stage podium will be revealed according to the best results shown on the second round. Points will be awarded using the following system:1-100, 2-80, 3-60, 4-50, 5-45, 6-40, 7-35, 8-30, 9-25, 10-20, 11-19, 12-18, 13-17………. 29-1.
